Vinnytsia's "Ocheretyany Whale" group was founded in 1995, and already then took part in the "Chervona Ruta" festival in Sevastopol. The group was founded by Konstantin Bushinsky. "Cats" do not consider themselves "folk musicians" and boldly experiment in different styles. Therefore, in their three albums you will hear and adapted Chumak songs, and ditties, and rock and roll, and melodic pop-rock. The sound is easy to move from electronics to acoustics. All "Cats" write songs and play several instruments.

Many are interested in how such a specific name was born? And here's how: one of the participants saw a jungle cat in the Kiev zoo, which became a totem creature. A jungle cat is an animal that lives in a swamp and has everything it needs there. So the guys - despite the fact that they love to travel, they always return to Vinnitsa, where they continue to engage in creative experiments. Looking back at the factors that made them what they are, I would like to talk specifically about their formation as a group. The guys started traveling from the Carpathians and Crimea. They experienced an epiphany in the Carpathians. "In one village in the Lviv region they put a bottle of old music, and he taught us for a long time what it means to play ditties, to play with passion, so that we would be drawn to dance... So we began with Kolomyia, putting them on rock-n-roll riffs."

To record the next album "Cats" they decided to take songs from old collections of the seventies. Of course, they make a modern adaptation, since they are not folk musicians, but have chosen their own path. And the songs are very lyrical, slow. As one of the participants says: “We just sit down at the instruments - and it is born gradually... This is our peculiarity. We ourselves model, we improvise. "

The sincerity of "Cats" in their approach to business - they do what they want and can. And this absolutely does not mean that they are demonstratively opposing themselves to someone. Like, not like everyone else. The main listeners are people who do something themselves, not necessarily music. The band members have very good intentions. And they hope that after listening to their concerts or just tracks, people will feel the need to do something good in life.
